Going to work last sat morning and heres an accident at Thorntons bay.
2 cages ,going like stink.must of touched each other.
one went on the beach side and rolled about 50 mtrs on the rocks
2 girls inside ..one dead and the other traped inside.
the other car went left and ended up in a very large ditch.
6 occupants. 4 injured. not a pleasant site at 5 am
speed was a large factor here.. not sure about alcahol.
take it easy on these roads..can be dangerous.
5 mins earlier and these two would have gone over top of me.

    Good on them.
Take my hat off to them, I will.
Road riding is definitely a different culture down here. We might be all slow but, by god we are good looking........

Dam good reading. Many good and graphic reminders for us ta remember while we are out there enjoying the "thrill" of riding.
As much as Skid's remarks give me the shits, I look at the responses they have triggered, and think:
Without he's BS posts, would we be triggered ta post some of the most poignant posts on riding I have seen here (like http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...4&postcount=30 )?

I remember another rider here that was once like him. A lot of us were not keen ta ride with him because of it. Still alive, and (far as I know) has improved his riding habits over the years. I can only hope SM will also grow into a real "good" rider one day and really understand what has been posted here, but until then I hope never ta be on the same road the same time as him.

I just popped sm on my ignore list, dunno what the hell it does but it just aggravates me repeating a message over and over. If skidmark learns and does change good for him. If he doesn't, well lets just hope he doesn't hurt someone else. I've never met you skiddy and in person you might be a great guy, but the image you have put across to me *with me being a noob* is that your riding habits are not safe, and that a lot of the time you pose a danger to other road users as well as yourself. I may be wrong but hey thats what i'm getting. No offense but sharpen up. All I hear is that you've lost your license again, your riding a half track bike on the road, constantly speeding etc. I don't know why your so compelled to push so far when it's obvious that a mistake can lead to tragedy on the road. I really hope that you skiddy do not hurt an innocent person or yourself on the road. Nuff said, wise up, theres always time to change, but for fucks sake listen to the experienced people on this site man. Take in what people are saying. Some of the time, the best advice is the one that cuts the most.

Done the Coro once. It's too good a ride to do at speed. Stunning scenery that should be seen.

Fuck yeah. Time and place, eh?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

    Exclamation Back on topic....

So are we all agreeable that it's NOT the Coro Loop that is dangerous...it's the idiots attempting to do 140kmph around 55kmph corners that make it dangerous?

Agree with DMNTD. Nothing is really all that dangerous, not even a nuclear weapon. That is until you add just the right amount of human stupidity.
