    Presentation

    Gidday all,

as part of a course I am doing I am required to giv e presentation on a topic of my choice. I thought it would be fitting to conduct it on riding bikes and the awarnes we need on the road.

I would like to use a video as my approach but sadly I have none and you tube doesn't allow you to save to disk.

So, if yo uhave some good vids that can be saved and used in a power point presentation could you please send me a link if post in this thread.. I am looking for anything that is 1 - 2 mins long.. Crashes, speed, stunting anything.. Just to capture the audience.. SOmething with some wow factor.. So what have you

    Cheers

You can save YouTube videos as .flv files. Check out "FLV Player".

yep. you tube downloader is a handy little program too. Can convert to avi afterwards and play with anything.

Any presentation that starts by assembling wizzy content with no thought given to either topic or message is sure to be a winner.

Presuming you have an on-topic clip you have found ... use www.savetube.com to save it directly as an avi. (save as and name .avi).
You simply look at the youtube clip, copy the url from the location bar and paste this into savetube and it generates you a download link.
    Easy as.

And don't worry about those comments above - in the 2000s your audience will not have an attention span long enough to notice any lack of content. But they will notice lack of exciting CGI.

    Failing that, try www.uponone.com.

OI - that's my commercial life you just described... keep those opinions to yourself!

LOL hey back on topic - what about one of the road safety videos already out there? The UK one with the guy pulling out into an intersection getting t-boned by the bike comes to mind.

go to www.savetube.com and enter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-mdoambAQQ The preamble might need editing out - but it's certainly an attention getting when the bike hits...

Probaby wouldn't be a good idea to show that IMO, seeing I was mortified by it, and goatse / tubgirl did nothing for me. You can only imagine how the average audience with mums and dads is going to react.

It certainly is! Scary that on the reply you can see the bike coming along.

And the second clip is worth persevering with - like the hidden dip bit.

Remember back in my teenage years back in the 80s being in car full of people who had been indulging in a heavy way - sadly including the driver. Literally we all saw an oncoming car dissappear into thin air. The driver wondered if it could be aliens - when suddenly it sprung at us and we missed it by inches.
    Beware the hidden dip indeed.
And never drive with a drunk dutchman.
