How much does a speedway bike cost?

100mph/160kph average speed usualy, that was a 1000mtr track, kinda half way between a half mile and a mile track.Interesting about pole position - the inside line is the pole position in 1/4 mile speedway, but on the longer US flattracks the outside position is pole...the outside bike gets a higher speed into the turn. From what Phill Dork was saying the fastest gate position was moving to the outside.I've seen the outside get the turn often at Rosebank,so it's not always the case.Another little thing - did you see the outside guy watching the pole and not the tape? - the slider on the pole moves first, the tape will be delayed....so he was moving as soon as he saw the slider move, the outside bike would be off the line before the bikes in the middle.Pity I missed this one...again! The speed is incredible,as those who were there will tell, mind you,as you get up in the stands, apparent speed drops - down at the wall it's terifying.

$2000 or $3000 will get you a 2 valve starter bike, maybe an old 4 valve for the same price - want Olly Olsen's old bike? I can get it for you...if Mauger didn't take it back,he was after it apparently.
