    Tank bra, anyone used one?

Picked this tank bra up the other day for next to nothing, not the nicest looking thing but even with my tank pad i have a few scratches here and there and thought this may help,John (oldrider) called in yesterday and suggested stuff may well blow in the edge of it (see second pic) and scratch up the tank, anyone used one and how did it go?

We're using a tank bra on the busa and it's going fine. Our one fits really snugly so won't flap around. Haven't had any instances of stuff getting stuck under it to date.

Whats the point of it? To stop the tank getting scratched? They are uglier than any scratch in the tank. I would have thought you'd be better off putting some clear plastic on it.
While you sit there liking things just cos' everyone else does, I'll be standing up here keeping it real.

Thumbs up It's not fitting right

Mate she should be tighter than that.

I used one on my TL's and they were brill

Put some pressure on the cord that goes around the top and make her skin tight

    Great protection no scratches everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I had one on my SV650s. Great for stopping scratches while touring, and provided better knee grip. But, I hated taking it on or off, feeling a high scratch potential at this point. Also, if it gets wet or damp between tank and bra-potential for rust or paint discolouration perhaps? Made it a bastard to clean bike-bra off-clean bike& dry-bra on! I gave up on it -apart from touring.

My question was rhetorical, which was pretty obvious by the fact that, I did answer it. I wasn't trying to answer your question. I was pointing out the fact that a fucken great scratch in the tank looks better than wrapping half the tank in vinyl.
Oh yeah, by the way. Enjoy the surface rust you'll get under that.

That must be quite the list have now....probably about half of KB judging by the amount of times you've said that to other people.
You've only said once before that you don't care what it looks like, and your already at the point of saying it for the last time!

,anyways lol i had one on my katana when i first brought it ,removed it firstly because i did not like it ,2ndly it caught and flapped in the wind a little which got to me a bit .also was advised that it would cause surface rust possibly in the future either on the tank or the subframe under it ....
