I'd be keen to help out as support mech. I have seen loads of number eight wire and farm gate hinges to fix bikes with up there.

Because he knows the time is short
Let him who hath understanding
Reckon the number of the beast
For it is a human number
Its number is six hundred and sixty six.

There is a petrol station at Houhora, and there are petrol pumps at Waitiki Landing. My understanding is that you cant rely on the pumps at Waitiki Landing to be open (and you will pay a small fortune for stale 91 octane fuel).
Well this was the case when we did the Northern Exposure Tour over aniversery weekend, if it has changed since then, sue me![]()

The official word (from mum) is that there is petrol at both Houhora/ Pukenui, and the last gas is at Waitiki Landing, about 24km from the top. But as has been mentioned, cant rely on them to be open, and will be PAINFULLY expensive. Last normal (or at least close to normal) priced gas will be at Kaitaia.
I have a couple of spare hi-vis vest if people cant find one, and may be able to lay my hands on a few more for the weekend if needed.![]()

"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."
Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.
