I have done in the past. Same rule for being pillion on any bike, I have to trust their riding.

The whole pillion thing is interesting. You are effectively putting your life in anther persons hands. But this is the same when you a passenger in a car but the chances of getting hurt are alot less if the driver screws up.

I'd have no problem being pillioned by a female infact I'd probably feel safer than being pillioned my a male as males tend to have egos that make them do silly things to impress.

Quite honestly I don't like to carry pillions as its extra responsibility and I dislike being pillioned as I'm not in control.

I enjoy taking pillions and have had my then 8 year old son on the back a couple of times.

My husband refuses to get on the back but he doesn't ride either. May be because the only time he's seen me ride is on the race track...

I find with the larger pillion passengers balance can be a challenge when stopping or starting. I give strict instructions to my pillion not to move when we are stopped! Smaller pillions its not such an issue.

I find the gsxr easier to take a pillion on than my sv was - possibly due to the weight balance on the bike.

I was in Little River a few years ago and a chick on one of those naked Katana's rode up with her bloke on the back. She was a stunner and had no problem walking up to us ugly bastards and start chatting about the road etc. The bloke didn't come over though, almost as if he'd been told off or something! (I think she wore the trousers) She wore tight blue jeans with leather chaps, which helped her cause, and a black leather jacket and scarf. Did I mention she was a stunner?? When she rode off we were speechless!

Learn to have a pillion with one of my girlfriend that was already used to pillion her Dad, not scared of anything and pretty light...So thanks to her, she trusted me and so i'm all fine with pillion now

As Keystone said, starting was so hard lol! But just had non-riding boys going on rides with me yet: no shame being on a girl's back as they don't ride, or rider boy too afraid by my riding maybe?

I find other bikers generally make terrible pillions. I am the same.

I used to ride on the back of my Ex's bike and I'd always be second guessing her, trying to see through the corner early, getting ready to lean when she was still choosing her angle etc...

I was pretty much begging for a binning. I don't ride bitch unless I can avoid it.

Re riding behind a female... no worries. My concerns would be that I'm a rider (and would have to adapt my style to suit them in control of the machine...) and that whoever is in control is a capable rider and I trust them.

I don't treat women any different to men when it comes to pillioning behind them. I hate it either way. I'll only go pillion if it's absolutely necessary and even then I'll think twice.

My wife won't take me pillion anymore as I'm too much trouble on the back (always moving the wrong way and just generally asking for trouble). When it comes time for us both to get on her bike she just hands me the keys (although this hasn't been necessary for ages).

As to the ins and outs of having a larger pillion on the back. I've had a pillion of around 120+kg and found the bike a tad unstable to say the lease when stationary. While moving I didn't really have any problems apart from the COG being a bit higher. Had a pillion of more like 60kg and actually forgot they were there at one point. The most fun (to use the term loosely) I've had while riding with pillion was when I over filled my oil tank on my XJ600. One of the most stupid designs I've seen put the overflow hose right in front of the rear wheel! Needless to say I didn't have much grip in the rear that day.

Misogynism condoned by women too, even more surprisingly.

Interestingly, according to an exceedingly authoritative piece of literature (Cosmopolitan, February 2008) a hallmark of the Girl Power movement in the 90s was the reclaiming of words such as "bitch". Previously considered derogatory, women took them back and wore the label with pride.

Hence we now see number plate surrounds "Sexy bitches drive red cars", key rings with B = Bold, I = Intelligent, T = Terrific, C = cute, H - Hot, or similar.

Personally, if someone calls me a bitch it automatically gets my hackles up ....... In jest, in the throes of passion, in whatever circumstance, it's likely to happen only once

Ah, yes! and we'd only get two minute's up the road by the time I would be getting the move out of the way jostle, mid corner Seriously I like sitting on the back of my own bike (which is the suitable one in the garage for two up riding). There is an art to being a good pillion, its all riding in my world
I would never ask Chris to sit on the back, doesnt make sense anyway, why put the heaviest person on the back when you can both ride? I take my son out for short 40k trips once a month now, bikes suitable for it and its a short enough journey to continue to hold his interest
