Not prepared to pay any more to buy locally.

Only thing I use the local shops for is:
Servicing stuff that I don't want to tackle myself
Clothes and stuff you need to try on
Basics like oil and filters etc
Anything you want a warranty on

I think if NZ shops can't bring in the overseas products at a reasonable price they need to start focusing more on service because people will always pay for that.

    How long will this last?

when the shops stop stocking clothes because everyone is buying online, we'll have threads full of complaints that no dealers have any decent gear....... then the risk will increase because people can't size properly and end up having to pay an extra $US 100 for postage to return it.

Mate I wouldn't even care if the local guy exsist or not.

Just like he dont care if I exsist or not, as demonstrated by him several times before I got the message.

Most of his income is from farm and dirt bikes so I dont even think he has given it a second thought as to why I and several of my friends dont vist anymore.
Arguing with an Engineer is like wrestling a pig in mud.

After a while you realise the pig is enjoying it.

Ive started getting stuff from the states off ebay.

    Examples (all prices NZ$)

Crash Bungs - NZ RRP: $250+ , Ebay $50 delivered.
Integrated LED indicator tail light - NZ RRP $325, Ebay $115 delivered
Whilstler Cruisader Radar detector - NZ RRP $650, US $300 Delivered

So 3 items that would cost me $1200+ here, Ive got for just $465.

Because the NZ market is so small (in any industry) they are forced to mark up high to get any money out of stuff.
