    Fantastic idea...Yummmm! Streetfighter Gixxer

Anyway, you've already been given the link I was going to flick you for this occasion, but talk to 007XY next time you see him. He has done a lot of homemade mods on his steed, and you two being engineers, you'll be talking the same language

The cheeper option is just go to a bike shop, and buy the clamps and bars. Cost me $150 in parts and a few hours of my time to have a riser kit on and ridable.

Considering a simple job. Remove fairings, tidy wiring cables etc, grill for radiators, high rise kit [including bar and brakeline], small fairing for the front, re-powdercoat wheels.

Dunno about painting the tank and tail unit [trying to keep cost down]. And also not sure about instrument cluster at the mo'.....might require a bit of thought.

Hoping fairings sold on tardme will help out with costs [what would they be worth?]

Downloaded a few images to wet the appetite.

Currently its either fight the Gixxer or trade and purchase either a Z1000 or Monster. Mrs SPB likes the Monster, apparently its 'pretty'. After owning the Gixxer I am not sure how long a Monster would last under full rape mode?

You should get $7-9 hundy for the fairings including headlight, ram air ducts etc

Go 16T on the front and she then becomes a real wheelie machine especially without all the weight up front

Have a look at SuperBike and/or KWS for real performance mods.

The only way to make it unique is to spend moolah.

    Keep us updated mate.

To be honest bro' what I really thought about was the trade in value of the gixxer [low cos of the kays] and the very high spec of said machine....The bike is perfect as it stands bar the Doctor whining about more surgery [oh and the blinding migraines] forcing me to adopt a more upright position........just about made me mind up, just convincing the trouble and strife.
See no reason why I couldn't take it to the track for a hoon either!

Good on ya mate! Get rid of those nana knickers and fighter that puppy! It will be easy to look mean and you are only limited by your imagination.

If you signed up to the NZSF site and posted some pics of your bike you will most likely get all your questions answered as well as get some new ideas. Just leave a description of want you want to achieve. NZStreetfighters can get you alot of the aftermarket parts right down to nos kits! The top yoke and bars are the easy part especially if you are an engineer, you just may need to get longer cables. If you are going to do that go for braided lines. Bar risers and bars can be bought from any bike shop, just drill out your current yoke, you could get the back side of it welded up to increase it thickness or you can buy a new one for around $300, or try to find out if another model will fit. Add a small digital speedo for about $180 incl idiot lights.

Next cut your exhaust in half and stubby that can. A tail tidy looks mint as well as an integrated tail light. Headlight units are a plenty, from the extreme ones we offer to a plain twin headlight set up. Small windscreens are easy to make out of fibreglass and I have a couple of designs if you want to save money. Finish it off with some paint and bolt on bling! If you do all the work yourself you will have all the basics done for probably only a couple of grand.
Get rid of those NANA knickers, and FIGHTER it!

You can pick your nose and you can pick your friends, but you cant eat your friends!
