To be honest, I rather be sitting in a car than a bike If I were to 'cruise' down the main street on Friday/Sat nights.

It's something I don't do anyway but could you imagine stopping and starting every minute and then realizing your bike has started overheating.

I don't know much about ChCh but I am guessing it's the same up here in Aucks, cars sitting around Queen St, moving couple of cms a minute.

They do a few laps up and down showing off their neons or 'spinners', tooting their horn her and there and blasting a bit of hip hop in between. There's usually always your token skanky ho at the back fumbling with their big gay ass mobile phones and don't forget the drivers, they are usually seated in a position so you can just make out their baseball cap, just poking out above the dashboard.

Then they all meet up at Mc D's or KFC on Quay St have their morning feed and fill up at Mobil. Most of the time you also see them wandering around the parking lot of Foodtown as you can buy alcohol until 1am.

On friday and saturday nights I'd either be out of town to enjoy some of the great outdoors or somewhere getting pissed. Neither is compatible with my bike.

That being said, should I ever find myself bored on a friday night I would still not go cruising on my bike around town. You gave all the reasons:

    1. Too many drunk and stoned drivers on the road.
    2. Chaotic mayhem and testosterone fueled idiocy.
    3. Strong police presence.
    and here's another one:
    4. I don't ride a sportsbike to cruise around town...

Hmmm, somehow I doubt that. We got a legacy wagon and you can't fit a full length mattress in there even with the seats down. You can in a Legnum apparently.

It was cool - use to hang out there between doing laps of 'the square' in a Yank V8 of some sort or the other.
(and the hot-dogs were'nt too bad either)

As far as wannabes go - I guess it was full of 'em 'cos they never tried to scrap with me and me mates....

One tried with one of my mates one night after trying to bludge smokes off him and getting told to take a hike, I think once the guy was on the ground getting a kicking he must have thought there were better ways to spend his Friday night

Then after outnumbering us 2 or 3 to 1 they were going to beat the snot out of us in press lane, until some guy who was a mate of a mate we were meeting there told them to fuck off, turn out he had gang affiliations which certainly saved our arse

i could play with the boyracers in my audi 5e gt or the 200t? both slow but jesus they sound impressive!
i try not to ride on friday and saturday nights, to many close calls with fuckwit integras and other such pot smoking drunk driving retards. what the hell is wrong with a party to get stoned and pissed at? i dont mind guys and girls showing off in their "cool" cars but sometimes they take it too far.

    like driving with spinners
    that was a pointless rant
