It didn't like low revs at all. It struggled to hold 2000rpm in top gear along a flat road (perhaps more flywheel required?). At startup it was quiet and with a nice light clutch selected first with a little clunk.
Why on earth would you want to do that?

I really liked riding the bike, it's a compromise like all other Adventure bikes. I have never ridden a KTM990, but I guess that would be its main competitor. With TKC80 you'd get to go most places that Adventure bikes should be able to get to and still have a comfortable ride getting there.

It is expensive. At the end of the day, if you'll want one bad enough you'll buy it. If not, there are plenty of other bikes for less, some for a lot less, no point complaining about the price. It will not be twice the bike to your V-Strom.

I'll be sticking to my little tractor aka R80GS, unless I get a break with lotto :-). Then I'll shout it a trip to HPN.

For the same reason that I tested the mid range and upper rev range.

There are many situations where I pootle along, do the slow down thing for whatever reason, and then roll on the throttle again.
