    My bathroom floor... *eep!*

    Bathroom floor - CHECK

    Lino for floor - CHECK

Person who knows how to lay said lino... hmmm... ruh oh...

Whats the going rate in beer/other for laying a couple or three metres of lino these days?

For some reason, Mrs D doesn't agree that double sided tape will do the trick... what the hell would SHE know? And if she's so damn smart, why isn't she laying it? (Hell no, I'm not having a floor getting laid more than me!)

    So uh... yeah!

I was of the thought that they used a PVC adhesive or similar to secure it... i'd think double sided tape WOULD work, but how well it would cope with moisture etc i'm not sure.

Check with 'The Stranger' he might know something about flooring... he's done most other parts of buildings before.

You use a special brown pongy adhesive, and smear it on with a special tin gizmo. Then you need a special heavy roller to squadge it all down. Then you end up with a room with nice big gaps between the joins of the lino, and brown goop smeared over everything in sight.

Takes a special sort of man to deal with brown adhesive goop.

Half a dozen tatty bath mats.

It's bare timber at the mo, had to lift the incumbent lino after we bought the place, due to the previous owner being shit house at DIY, and the floor was rotting out underneath.

The rot has been repaired, the lino purchased... and well... that's about the sum total of my expertise.

Okay, so I'm more shit house than the last guy, but at least I'm smart enough to know when NOT to have a go

Asian ninja DIY man to the rescue Shaggy! Got tools, got gears, got mental attitude! Lemme at it!

I think fuscia with shades of lilac will create a harmonious flow that is in keeping with the feng shui of the place.

There will be subtle slates of ionic rocks to absorb negative energy and the flow of water will purify any impurities from ablutions.

Criss-cross the spacial gateway with fronds of neutral scented plants and a selection of sandalwood to complete the asian mastery of the space.... oh mi to phat, ahmida buddha

Particle Board? or tounge n' Groove?...if its T n' G then it should be over layed with Hardboard or MDF before the vinyl is installed. Otherwise it just needs a sand. Preperation is the key, i do all my own floor prep, wouldn't have it any other way. If you want me to bang it in for ya just say the word, cant come down till Saturday week tho'.

    Wise man !
I have a mate who does vinyl flooring, and I've watched him at work - knows what he's doing. It's not a job I'd take on myself, as I'd just have big gaps everywhere and make a proper dogs breakfast of it. Hence the reason he's done all the vinyl tiles in my kitchen/dining, and the vinyl in the laundry, bathroom and toilet. And the carpet in the rest of the house.!

Sounds like maha is the man...
    (what a nice guy)
