    Adventure Motorcycling by Robert Wicks

I was sent this book from the UK - not sure if it's available here.
Adventure Motorcycling, by Robert Wicks, foreward by Ted Simon.
Published Jan 2008 by Haynes Publishing, UK.

Claims to be everything you need to plan and complete the journey of a lifrtime, and that's not too far off the mark.
    In 3 parts -
1 - before leaving home - covers choosing a bike, bike prep, gear, riding techniques, documentation.
2 - on the road - navigation, maint, emergencies, etc
3 - 3 trip reports of Morocco, Africa and a World trip.
The book is up to date (includes the BMW 800 GS) and has some great photos. Tries to inform at all levels which may bore experienced riders in places, but overall a good read for anyone contemplating The Big Ride.

Reading Lois Bryce's second book (Lois on the loose was her first) called white knuckles & red tape. It's about her trip across Africa. Very light hearted non technical & funny. I find her like Bridget Jones on a bike.

Nelson riders are welcome to pick it up for a read when I've finished.

Well folks I've been following this post for a while now, waiting, waiting till mine came out
    - After many years of researching, writing, editing, and rewriting my book ‘Dirtbikes and Dreams – A Poormans Adventure Touring Guide’ is finally available. For you folks that don’t know, ‘Dirtbikes And Dreams’ is a guide to help the novice trailbike adventure rider get themselves started cheaply and easily with tips and tricks about bike set-up, modifications, what gear to take along, navigation from ‘A’ to ‘B’, basic first aid and survival techniques and even a few recipes.
A guide for the adventure tourer has been a long time coming. For years you’ve only been able to buy books on camping, orienteering, hiking and even camping with your dog or cat but theres been nothing available for those of us who love nothing more than to load up the dirtbike and explore -
    Until now….

NordieBoy, I bloody hope so. I'm throwing my balls out there and sending review copies all over the shop - including Warren Jack and Ado from BlokesWorld.
If it's crap I'll hear about it and so will every one else.

Not a book but see who pops up in this RR. Blue overalls & style

Edit: Don't bother reading too much as it's 15 pages of crap & 4 or 5 actual posts
