I haven't seen one in that paint scheme before and it looks suspiciously tidy for an adventure bike.

(Opens wallet - only receipts in there)

Go for it. Subject to inspection of course. Why Yamaha didn't continuously update that engine (ignoring the TDM and TRX) is beyond me.

Could be an import - the europeans seem to have different paint schemes to us. My brother and I have 1990 XTZ's and they are different from the colours of the European 1990's.

Why Yammy didn't continue to develop the bike full stop is beyone me. Its not hard to put a 850 TRX or TDM motor in one and if you are really keen you can shoehorn a 900 FI TDM motor in. Stick on a WR450 front end and a Wilbers/WP/Ohlins shock and you've got yourself a pretty damn serious Adv bike with an awesome range. I get 380km to reserve (big reserve on these of close to 100km) so I suspect that the needle jets, and needles are worn on that bike (it is a common problem on XTZ's). Only cost $100 for parts in NZ (get the upgraded nickle coated jets and needles) and problem solved (my bro just did this).

That seat has slightly elongated holes (vertially) for fitting. Probably just needs somebody to lean on it when tightening the bolts. There is normally a small gap between the carrier and the back of the seat and the angle of the picture might not be helping much.

Only joking - The DR is a great bike & worth more than the seat.

Pretty sure it's a UK/Euro model, but it appears to be missing some of the decals, should look like this: http://www.westcoast-salvage.com/Use...ha/xtz_750.jpg

My XTZ will be for sale soon. Put the new toy in the shed last night (see shed pics). I want to give it an oil change and a going over. Will post details in a couple or four weeks but if anybody is keen to talk let me know.

Italy is by far the biggest market for these big trailies in europe and they got more paint jobs than we did in the UK. Never seen that paint job beore though. From memory we had 3 different paint jobs mine was the really dark purple job n proper crap it looked too. Great bikes, pity i'm a skinny weed and too short for another crack at one.

    Cheers Tony

Hey Tony - I would have thought the 426 has a taller seat than the XTZ?

Ah but bikes like my 525 and the 426 have tall Narrow seats and the bikes themselves weigh alot less.

    Funny word "narrow".....

Ah let me think about that for a moment - na

I'll not be after much for Tenzing - depends on if Bro still wants pannier racks and wilbers shock. I'll post more once I have spoken to him.
