Impressive on the video going over the logs. I wonder if there is a dealer yet in NZ?
Could cause all sorts of 'fairness' poblems in racing I imagine. I wonder how reliable it truly is?
You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
And now a third thing a bloody big gun to shoot theives with!
You could buy a 2 wheel drive WR450 a year or two ago for about $2000.00 more than the base unit. Not sure if its still available. Probably a few of them still sitting in boxes somewhere.
I understand that KTM also had a 2 wheel drive bike hidden in the wings but have not seen it offered to the masses.
Now that looks much better than other systems I've seen, especially the hydraulic ones.
Zen wisdom: No matter what happens, somebody will find a way to take it too seriously. - obviously had KB in mind when he came up with that gem
Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity
imagine how much chain spray you would use and i am pretty shure the ohilins kit is avaliable still
Looks pretty useful in certain conditions.
Damn, thats a pretty interesting way of driving the front wheel. Wonder how much power is lost through the gears.
"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."
Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.
Looks like it works....

Darryl King and Damian King raced the 2x2 Yamaha WR450 in the napier 6 hour in about 05, they were 3rd or 4th overall,
i talked to Damian afterward and he said it was actually harder to ride in some section, in extreme hill climbs etc it was very good, but it had down sides as well, in wooped out sections the front would not sit on the top of bumps, it would drive into them, with this it was very tiring, and this is coming from one of the fittest riders in nz off road racing,
it would be really fun to ride, but i am not sure if it such a huge advantage over normal rear wheel only drive
Looked into this when I was looking for another off roader earlier in the year. They quoted me about $12000 for their ex demo crf 250x shipped to NZ.
They talked about a dealership opening in Wellington? but haven't heard much since as I didn't reply. you can see it all on their website. Link above.
I think someone has bought one in NZ according to their salesman but don't know where it is. Looks pretty good over stuff like logs.

The Dealership selling Christini AWDs will be opening at the start of Jan in Wellington. AWD Motorcycle Experience days will be available for the public, the cost of this is yet to be determined. The experience days will give bike enthusiasts the opportunity to try an AWD and will include the following; a briefing in the morning explaining how the bikes work and the advantages of what an AWD bike has to offer over a conventional bike, followed by a 20-30km enduro loop. All demos must be pre booked and everyone must bring there own riding gear. Will include an hour lunch in the afternoon start at 10.00 finish around 16.00-17.00. First ordered bikes will start arriving around the end of feb start of march. All bikes will be set for individual riders so pr booking is essential.
Also you will have the opportunity to try out the rekluse pro clutch and hand brake kit fitted to an awd bike.
Should you require further information, you can contact us on sales@extremeawdmotorcycles.co.nz
After a few hiccups along the way, we have decided to re-locate to the Otago region, where we will be baseing ourselves within the next few weeks. we will shortly have a web site up and running, and plan on running an awd tour company as well as selling awd bikes as the area has the type of terrain we are looking for to really push the awd system to its limits. You will still be able to purchase an awd kit or bike from us as we will ship nation wide.
