They've had emission laws in for quite a while too, yet your bikes are still on the road.

Another law that will get universally ignored, like red-light running...

This is good. I'm sick of boy racers that interrupt my dinner conversation while I'm eating in a nice outdoor setting at my favorite restaurants. It's entirely possible to have an exhaust which sounds nice, without being incredibly loud, and allows ample engine performance, on any street vehicle.

do you have any idea how many vehicles wont meet this db level in standard form.Once again a law gets passed to sought out the boy racers and every one pays for it

I wonder if they will test out the desiel locomotives that run the length of NZ on rails.
Those fuckers would be the noisiest by far.
I think anyone would agree that you can hear a desiel train miles away from any rail track,
And where do aircraft come into this mix
Helecopters buzing around the city, worse noise polution than any automoble.
Then we have chainsaws and lawn mowers......sunday morning quiet? yeah right!
So the boffins have got it right at getting it wrong again, applying a new law , when all that is needed is enforcement of existing law.
Typical NZ Government, give the problem to a commitiee, have an enquiry, write new laws, listen to idiots.

I guess it will be at least as effective as the last revision.

My current irk is "rules for the sake of it".
It Seems fasionable to introduce rules that limit resonable people who listen and obey but have no effect on people causing the problem because they don't listen to rules anyway.

Just like the tagging thing and our local ban on "any motorised recreation" around our local (Hutt) river.

You have to remember most of these vehicles don't have warrants anyway~!

Why do they never specify the rev range tested?

My bike is quite quiet at up to 3,000rpm....it only sounds visceral at about 6,500rpm onwards.
