Well so far I've done the following to my bike, yoshi titanium tri-oval pipe, adjustable rearsets, moriwaki crash bungs, x-ring chain. It already had a yoshi on it, but I replaced it. It also had and still has an adjustable steering dampner and a K&N. Of course, can't forget the one-arm operation mod!!
However, the best mod I've had done was completed today, no horsepower gain, doesn't improve handling, is hardly noticeable, but allows me to accelerate harder and corner with more confidence. I got my [drum roll] seat recovered!!
Let me explain. When you're about 172cm tall and weigh about 73kg, hanging onto a gixxer 750 with one arm in first gear is rather, hmmm, interesting. Go on, those that can, try it. If like me, you'll slide back in the seat making for an interesting ride. However I found with my shoulder bag I take to work between me and the seat, I could go hard and stay where I wanted to be. Also I found in right hand corners with a decent amount of lean, I could slide off the seat far too easy. Under recommendation from an auto upholster I got him to fit a 'grippier' covering to the seat. Fuck me, what a difference. Now the bike feels a lot more like an extension of my body, can't wait to get out for a decent ride. Wednesday off, I'm gone.
