I was wondering this too as the seat that Nordieboy modded massively was... a Corbin... hmmm

I am certain that even if it is a "one off" that they have never done before, if you can spend the time with them, they will achieve very good results - perhaps even better results than a "one size fits all" product like the Corbin. The time thing was a problem for me however and I am happy with what I have.

As a footnote, I have never had my good lady on the back of the DR. However, just looking at the pillion peg height leads me to think that, no matter whose seat it is fitted with, comfort wise, it will not be anywhere near your CB.
Thanks for the PM. Yes I have high regard for Rider seats, having one on my CB, I know how good they are. I have never actually seen a Corbin, and in my original message at the start of this tread, I was wondering if anyone had a Rider seat on their DR650, as I was keen to see what they look like.

I prefer to go with our local trade than Corbin. The only hassle is going down to Tauranga, and discussing exactly what you want. I think it makes more sense to take your bike in, and with the original seat on the bike, so you can point out exactly what you want. You can't do that when you send it down via courier, and discuss it over the phone .... IMHO.

And yes ... well I know a DR or similar bike, is not going to be anywhere near as comfortable for my wife as pillion, but I will do my best to improve whats there!

You do it and be the first rider DR seat perhaps and that will make it so much easier for the rest of us!

Great! Can you post some pictures of your bike and seat ? I would really like to see what they look like. (I've just seen the pics on your other posting, but how about some more pics of the bike, so I can see what the overall appearance is like compared to the stock item ?)
    Cheers,
    Grant.

Has anyone looked into buying a Factory Suzuki Gel-Seat for their DR650?

BTW, we bought 2 DR's today! x1 for me (Black) and x1 for Qkkid (Blue). I wanted the blue one but he refused to let me have it!

Have a look on the DR650 yahoo group and do a search about the gel seats. The yanks on the group recon they are just about worse than the stock seats except they do lower the seat height just a little bit.

From what I know I wouldnt get a gel seat - far better with a corbin (yanks rate them) or even better still rider (support local"ish")

    Welcome to the "club"

Hmm maybe it might be better to spend a bit of $$ extra and take them down to McDonalds...
