Sorry ... I'm feeling too lazy to troll back through the threads, ... did you two get screens for your bikes ?? I was just wondering if you did, what you have ordered ? I have gone with a Givi A601, which may be a bit tall, but I'll have to wait and see. Suppose I could always get the chainsaw out and knock a bit off the top !!

You guys will have fun in AK. I will be down there at Colemans late tomorrow afternoon picking up my DR. Only one sleep to go !!!! lol

Nope we havent given it a thought yet - guess we will ride them for 5mins and then think.........hmmm maybe I do need a screen.

I think you will be safe in regards to the weather - cope of dark clouds hanging around to the east (over Howick/Pakuranga) but it looks like its starting to clear up...looks fine in the North, hardly a cloud in the sky.....

I have got the bigger plastic guards. I've never really thought about the difference in wind/rain protection from when I didn't have guards. There may be an improvement, I'm not sure.
I mainly got them to protect the levers if the bike has a little lie down, and to protect my hands from foliage, airborne stones etc. And they make the sherpa look a bit less skinny and weedy.

    Cheers,

    They are reasonable.
    They could be better though

Gorse is also an issue as the plastics don't wrap around to the bar end.

Gorse, pfft, try blackberry bushes.......I couldn't work out why my right hand was sore last sunday until I discovered all the bloody thorns embedded in my glove and trying to work there way into my knuckles.

Maybe I need a wider screen?

Does anyone know of a good web site to look at a variety of hand guards n stuff ? So far I have heard of the Barkbuster brand, and the Zeta's ... I do like the look of the Zeta handguard bar, the way it wraps it around the end. It seems quite solid.

    Bump

How are the DR's going Qk's

    I was out this morning.

I see the mention of Barkbusters,i turned up at a MX meet on my Husky (Enduro) once and was asked to remove the barkbusters (alloy version) as, if by some chance you went over the bars there was a chance of breaking your wrists (fwiw) (which i had never considered until then.
