Good writeup on the Kings in Stroke mag

got the stroke mag yesterday and theres a write up on the king bros.
shit they done it tough to chase their dream.
i cant imagine many young people would do the shit they did.
they pulled a bike down and carried it over seas in suit cases.
    and lived on baked beans.
and damien had a shitty car and they'd pull the bike down after a meet and cart it around on the back seat.
    good read .
i had a laugh when they talking about shane and say he has started a new business called brown kiwi.
    hahah

Haven't read the article but I heartily agree with your sentiments. They have achieved so much and been responsible for dragging up the overall standard of MX racing in Australasia.

I've heard of Tony Cooksley doing the same thing traveling to the races over seas with the bike in suit cases, showing up in some old brickies (can't remember the dudes name now but it will come to me) ute while everyone is in their big semi's and smoking everyone.

alot of guys did this in the 90's, the 3 Kings brothers, Michael Cotter, Craig Brown, Damon Smith, Daryl Hurley, Cam Negus, Darryl Atkins are some of them i remember, and their were a lot of guys that went as support and mechaincs on their own back as well, it was pretty good time for nz motocross

the trick back then was to carry the engine on as hand lugauge to get some weight out of the bags, they didnt every check hand lugage that well back then,

I can just imagine the uproar now trying that with airport secuirty as it is now,

Yeah Karl Power had trouble one time last year taking his suspension on the plane with him to Australia. Just the one time, all the other times they let it through. Go figure!
