So im driving in Auckland today....And as I pulled behind a newest Bmw..
I noticed two of the occupants where smoking..the driver right then throw his butt out of the window and straight on to the road...Then drove off from lights...At the next set of lights the Bmw stopped in front of me again...And this time the passanger throw her butt out of the window and straight on to the road..
I jumped out of my truck and approched the Bmw..And kindly ask the driver how many times in one day he would litter(WITH BUTTS)

He replied"I dont know is it illegal to do it"

I said yes of course it fcking is!!!!!

Then I advised the driver and passenger that If I ever caught them littering in front of me again...I would put the butt back in to there car...

As that is where it belongs??

Or does it now belong on the road side as it is now there??

That would have been good to witness, I would have backed you up if I was there. I wholeheartedly agree that littering, in any form, is a disgraceful act and that the perps should be caught & punnished! :eyepoke:

It's been a pet hate of mine for years to see smokers throw butts out of car windows, even just smokers who stub out their butts with their feet while standing outside is quite a filthy act, but what can you really do about it? I like your vigilante stand on the issue but the general truth is that it is habitual for smokers to litter their cancer sticks all over the countryside without giving thought to "keeping NZ clean", so your efforts to prevent it will probably be in vain. The prevention must come from the 'litterer' himself...then again I'm all for tougher fines/punnishment laws against littering, but is that the answer?

A smoker flicked his butt out while I was along side him waiting for the lights, it landed in my lap on the bike. I grabbed it my gloves as the lights changed.
At the next lights I flicked it back in his open window on to his back seat - he nearly shit himself as I gave him his heritage. Lights changed I rode off.
I watched in the mirrors as he jumped out of car ripped back door open and tried to find butt.

He copped all the abuse from those behind him and beside him as he had back door open blocking lane as well - bet he used ashtray after that.

I think THAT is a great way to deal with THAT situation. However, I don't agree with Crazy-Steve jumping out his truck and getting all agressive with the driver. Personally I think there are way too many agressive and easily upset people in NZ. Yes it's littering and yes I think thats wrong, but it's one of those things you're just not going to be able to stop.

I find I have problems smoking over 100kph....flip front helmet tends to catch the wind...bloody lighter wont work...put butt in ash tray butt it just blows away!

People tend to get pissed off when I light up when re fueling too...whats wrong with you people..

I was sitting in my truck on the side of the road in pt chev last year having some morning tea when this young asian chap walks along the footpath, finishes eating his pie, drops the pie wrapper on to the foot path.

Fuck I absolutely saw red, jumped out of my truck, told him to "pick up your fucken rubbish, don't you dare treat my country with that kind of lack of respect you little fuck, you're lucky I don't kick your fucken ass" or something along those lines.

Bet he never did it again, didn't harm anyone and made our country a better place.

If we all stopped one person from littering for the rest of the forseeable future our country would be litter free
