You guys need to check out Cycle World magazine, and the Cycle World forums (you'll ahve to join I think)
Peter Egan has written a few columns last year about "keepers" and among them (others including the square case 900SS Ducati) was the XLCR.
In my March issue there is a pic of him in his garae with the XLCR, so he did get one.
In the CW forums there is a 10 page + thread about XLCR's: provenance, slagging matches, value, "You're a jerk" "No, you're an even bigger jerk" comments..... its great. Dig thru the dross though, and there are pearls of wisdom (hmmmmm what other forum do I know that is like that??)
Anyway, for a US perspective it will be worth a look
I would say.

do you have any parts for a Iron head? I need a points cover
No one has ever doubted this is a highly collectable bike and - dare i say it a tremedously brave bike by HD. I can actually remember when they were released and like the rest of the world I was gobsmacked.
The question is - whats it worth? A better question is - what does one cost?
