it seems as if his mates didnt even know he was taken out....
I've learnt to hide the pain inside, open the throttle and ride away.
This is why I really don't go for group riding.
I'm surprised about the rear facing camera footage. Is it a security camera on a truck?
stupid bastard.....
Ooooh dam that had to hurt
Idiot Maximus - what makes bike riders look like idiots.
... and that, ladies and gentlemen, is what's known as giving yourself the learn.
kiwibiker is full of love, an disrespect.
- mikey
That was aweful.
I wouldn’t be broke if the voices in my head paid rent
I feel sorry for the car driver, if they even survived that. Hard to feel any degree of sympathy for the rider when they commit such a stupid act of finality. And yes, I feel the same way about cagers who do the same thing. Anyone who drives/rides as if a public road (as that obviously was) is their own private race track without giving a shit for anyone else doesn't deserve anything other than scorn. Wonder how whoever was in charge of the bike/car that the camera was on felt seeing that oncoming vehicle?
Ive seen that so close to happening so many times whilst Ive been out riding, and it makes me each and every time.
I wish some people would learn from that - but nope - they are all 6ft tall and car proof.
The bit I don't get is ... how did he not see that happening?
Quite a shocking miss-judgement. The first manouver on the bend was bad enough.
You can see the car driver locking the anchors, so there was some time to react.
I wonder if the biker lived to tell the tale.
With an impact speed of around 180Kph I doubt it very much.
My guess is that it's on the back of another bike, so they could get some video of their 'racing'...
The last guy definitely saw it - the guy that was taken out was in front of (or at least beside) him when it happened - looks like he rode through some of the debris - mechanical and human.I got the impression that the next guy probably heard the crunch - looked like he was checking his mirrors, and the last guy was definitely on the brakes, dropping back quickly from where he had been...
Yep. In the hardest possible way.
Probably better than the guy on the bike that pulled out... Camera guy probably didn't even give it a second thought - "Yeah, straight road, plenty of visibility - those other yobs'll see the car..."
My guess is a combination of red mist, and being blind-spotted by the bikes in front (it looked like he went from hard on the RH shoulder, behind the other two bikes, out wide to go around on the LH) - plus, maybe having seen the previous guy pass, thought "It's clear..., I can go!" IMO, about the only thing that might have saved him, would have been a hard left, down into the drain/fence... ...or NOT treating the road as a personal private race track.![]()
