    Trailbike insurance?

I just received the insurance premium for my wr450 today for $360 (off road only $10k value $500 excess plus $1000 theft excess).

Am I right in assuming that theft is the greatest risk by far?

If so I am assuming that normally happens from where the bike is stored?

What sort of security are you guys using to stop people stealing your bikes?

Ours are in locked sheds with bikes chained to work benches but I'm also wondering about disk locks or padlock through the sprocket etc...

    any suggestions appreciated

    cheers

Please post pics of your security measures, your address and a map just to make it easier for me eh?

I have never insured my dirt bikes. Just make sure they are well secured to something immovable and resist the urge to hoon around your neighborhood on it thus advertising to all and sundry what you have and where you live. A cheap shed alarm wouldn't be a bad idea either. Always keep an eye on who's following you when trailering home from events go around the block just to be sure if suspicious.

i load and unload mine into the van within the shed, im fairly sure nobody in my neighbourhood is even aware i have a bike, i also dont run it at home. if nobody knows it exists, they wont take it.

this however wont work if you dont have a van

big arse chain to foundations in the house, no way is it going anywhere. then lock them to your trailer, and your trailer to your car if your stopping on the way to rides for a feed ect. (baseball bat under seat as well just incase) haha,.. that is the main insurance i need.

Mine just sits in the shed and is not locked to anything. 2 kicks and ride her away! Insurance wise, it is covered for fire and theft under my house and contents, and is covered under my car policy for when it is in transit.

Don't you love it that he's poking fun at another man's ride when he doesn't have a bike himself?
