Thread: Anyone done the Gisborne loop - SH35+SH2?

    Borrowed a K7 thou and rode to Gisborne Friday morning. Did East Cape then up to Tauranga Sat. East Cape was a great ride with lots of natives in thier natural habitat. Saw a head on between 2 cars near Te Puke.

    Twistie heaven and lots of us have done it. I think it is about 500kms and can be done in a day. You will know you've had a decent ride tho...
    I'll second that, we just did a North Island trip including the Waioeka Gorge, utterly fanatastic!!!

    just did it this weekend Toto (my turtles name), beautiful roads, stunning scenery, take a chick with you n I guarantee you, you will get laid ! DONE.

    point well taken. i'll do that tour soon. How many days all up was your tour and what route did you take to and from auckland? I assume you didnt stay on any boring straight state highways.
