    Disappointing service

I don't normally complain about this sort of thing, as i am in customer service but even i have my limits.
I bought my bike from a bike store around a week ago. and the service that i have had from them is appalling.
I went out on a Saturday with the sole purpose of buying a bike. I had this bike shop recommended to me by another biker and thought i would check it out.
Anyways i rock up around 11am or so and start to brows the bikes that they have in store. I was a little disappointed to find such a limited range of bike in store but they had one of the ones i was looking for.
After an hour of looking around for someone to serve me i got somewhere.
Anyway cut a long story short on that day, i couldn't complete the finance for the bike as there were bits of information that i need. Insurance ect.
I was happy with that, and was told that someone would give me a call on Monday and we would get everything sorted out.
Monday comes and goes no phone call. Due to family issues i couldn't have gone in anyways so not to worried but hey a follow up phone call would have been nice.
Tuesday rolls around and at 9am i give them a call. finance has not even been entered in the system. "We will get this sorted out for you today and call you back".... waiting.... waiting.... waiting..... 1pm ring back "Oh yes still working on it will do that soon".... waiting.... waiting.... waiting..... still nothing by 5 give them a call back. no success.
Wednesday i call them yet again
oh yes we are doing that now?!?!?!?! FFS Anyway long story shot on Wednesday they finally get it in, and i go in and pick the bike and gear up.
They have to order a pack rack for my bike I can handle that should have that by Friday right?.... No they forgot to order it, and can't get one now till Monday. O.K. mistakes happen i can handle that.
Monday afternoon I call again as i still have not heard anything. nope still no pack rack O.K. eta Tuesday now i am starting to get annoyed. they will call me back on Tuesday once it has come in.
Tuesday 3pm still no phone call O.K. call them back "um...um...um... i will check and call you right back" .... waiting.... waiting.... waiting.....
Wedneday. 12pm still no call back so call again. yes it is in we just need your bike for 2 hours to fit. Finally!
So thinking i would be smart i will kill 2 birds with one stone and get the bike serviced at the same time. so how much for a first service.
    "$270"......?
    when can they do it?
"i will put you thought to the workshop so they can book you in"".... waiting.... waiting.... waiting..... "are you still there caller? i will have the workshop call you back in 15mins with an answer as to when they can do it."
.... waiting.... waiting.... waiting......... waiting.... waiting.... waiting.... waiting.... waiting.... waiting.....
I still have not got that call.
So i called Red barron. how much for a first service? i ask
"180" Much better price. when can you do it.?
    "tomorrow"
Hence to say. once the pack rack has been fitted to my bike i will no longer be dealing with the bike shop i bought my bike off. The total lack of follow up has left me feeling like i should have taken my $7500 and spent it elsewhere.
They have failed to follow up on any phone call they have promised to make, and the phone service i got a inept at best.
    O.k. Rant finished

Methinks you should have picked up on the incompetence before the finance was finalised. I hope your warranty (if the bike is new) isn't tied into having it serviced at that specific dealer.

I hope the bike won't disappoint!

It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

Funny... you didnt mention anything about being unhappy about the service in your post about getting your new bike... so why the seperate rant now?

Not trying to save anyone ass or anything, just seems a bit odd that if it was so bad you would have mentioned it.

Like my post says i am in retail (sort of) and i understand that delays can happen and i am O.K with that for the most part. however i do think that i have been patient enough. At the time i picked up the bike, there had been a delay but i was o.k. with that... I think the thing the bugs me the most, is the lack of follow up. I feel if i had left this I would still be waiting next month for the pack rack for the bike.

Going by your other posts stating where you got the bike from I find this incredibly hard to believe.

As in, incredibly hard to believe.
