The Hyosungs arnt even that much cheaper then the competition so whats the point?? I could understand if they were thousands less but they just arnt.
In the United States Hyosung are putting thier bikes in all these no-name dealers that sell crap. No other dealer wants them. So when you buy one you almost automatically have to deal with shady people and shit service from the start.
Sorry but no amount of savings is worth that. Consider the quality you're getting, ponder the fact that for only a few grand more you could have the best out there and it just adds salt to the wound.
So how does the new Ninja 250R compare then? Around the same price!
what I want to no is WHY WHY WHY do people even spend money on 250's? Fine if you are racing two strokes or you have a road legal dirt bike but other than that it is just a waste of money. Hyosung is not cheaper than its competition its WAAYYY more expensive because realisticly its only compitition is the GN250. You can say that there are 250s out there that have a higher top speed than some bikes of larger displacement, but top speed has about 2/5ths of sweet fvck all to do with rideability and enjoyment on the road. THERE IS NO REPLCEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT. most people buy a hyosung as their learner bike(which 99.999% of people sell in 18mnths when they get their full). WHY? why not get a GN? People defend their hoyosung purchases by saying that they handle better and they are faster than bikes like the GN, which is only marginally true if at all. My point is if you have to ride sh*t why not ride shit that costs THOUSANDS less and put the money towards a real bike later on. the only difference between the GN and the Hyosung is the looks (they especially made it physicly larger so it would look like a proper bike, which only slows it down more, making it even less "race" like). now to my point which brings this whole rant back onto topic, they market the hyosung as a "race" bike because it is marketed towards people with what I like to call "small dick syndrome" these are the people that couldn't possibly be seen riding a GN250 because that cruiser sh*t is just not cool. The marketers know that this particular affliction is sooo unbeleivably strong that people affected by it would be willing to spends rediculus sums of money to make up for their unbeleivably small penises by riding what they think is a "cool" race bike. When in reality people see them and go "why the hell would they buy that peice of junk". They don't need to worry that the hyosung is way below the par of an actual race bike because real racers wouldn't bother looking at them and the people who do buy them don't actually know any better.
Just to clarify when I say hyosung here I am refering to the GT250 not the 650 as I here the build quality is a fair bit higher on this model, though I cannot be sure...
Not to diss on people who have them because of their physical size, this is 100% understandable if you are a big bastard, but you probably could have got an exemption to ride a bigger cc bike.
Why spend money on 250s? Well, for most learners, they have to spend at least 18 months on their 250. Why not enjoy that period of time on a bike that goes around corners in a `sporty' manner?
I've got a 250, I will be keeping it for as long as I can, even after I buy a big bike. I've ridden larger bikes and they offer a different experience -- not necessarily better, just different. So I'll be keeping my 250 for the sake of diverse and enjoyable riding -- and a GN250 isn't quite my thing, although they're not bad bikes at all. Similar if I'd spent up large on a CBR250RR, those things are unique and interesting bikes quite apart from the whole 250cc thing. Why not enjoy yourself for 18 months? And the resale is always good, so it's mostly just a temporary extra outlay.
So i've got a tiny pecker huh?
Who the fuck are you to say what people should and shouldn't spend their money on. For me the GN was a ludicrous option, as i'm 6'4". It's not something I could spend a large portion of time on. I can afford to buy new, I fucking earned it. If I had a 600cc sports bike through a dispensation, I probably wouldn't be here right now.
As for spending money on 250's, why the hell not? I'm not going to throw it away/trade it up. I will get a bigger bike, but i'm also keeping the Hyo. Find me a 1000cc bike that can do 500Km to a $25 tank. It doesn't matter if I have the bike for 1 month, or 10 years, I have to be comfortable riding it, and if it's mine, I want to make some small changes to get even more enjoyment out of it. Why is that wrong?
Maybe you should stop spending money on internet connections, as it's proving harmful to your judgement.
On closer inspection, of 4 total posts you have made, 3 of them are bagging Hyosung. Got nothiing better to do?
