    eek! i've only got one pair of goggles and they're scratched to f**k before i've even left the start line

    can i listen to some german h-core techno on the ipod to keep the electro lights going on rather than drink sugary piss

    i sure will (hope to) have fun, failure is not an option but is def a possibility

    I've only done a few, so others can correct me if I'm wrong but I'd add.

    - If you get stuck, don't knacker yourself getting out, try & conserve energy.
    - If you fall off, don't carry on with levers pointing skyward / crooked bars, the pro's might be able to deal with it, but mere mortals like me fall off again.
    - If your heading for a massive rut & can stop & change line to avoid it stop & change line, it's bloody hard work lifting your bike out cause the rut is so deep pointing the front wheel to the sky still doesn't allow the back wheel to hit the ground.
    - Check every bolt including the front mudguard mount cause it looks pretty damn silly riding with the front guard 1/2 in your camelbak.
