    Dust to Glory

Just finished watching dust to glory twice over the last couple of nites. What a great movie.
It was directed by Dana Brown whom some of you old waxheads may know as the man behind Step into liquid & Endless summer 2 - Son of Bruce Brown of the original Endless Summer fame.

It is about the baja 1000 race thru Mehico & has some truly OMG moments with offroaders mms away from taking out other spectator vehicles & spectators. What a race.

It focused on a couple of Honda Pro teams & a solo rider - bloody intense riding for 15 -17 hrs flt out. Really makes you respect the skills some of these guys & gals have.

The biggest thing that really stood out was the way it could never ever be run like that over here with our regulations & beaucracy. Pretty loose is a mild term for the marshalling. I recorded it off Rialto so any of you with Sky might be able to catch it again to record or if really keen I can lend you a copy I made. (for copyright reasons I can't or won't make copies of it).

    Yep a great flick.

I love the shot where one of the riders hits the beach (I think it's Mouse) while in the distance you see another rider hard on the gas up the main trail.

I'm in the process of downloading Travis Pastrana's - Baja Diaries.

Campbell (Honda 1) on the beach chasing Hengefeld (Honda 2)?

I have the original On Any Sunday video here (the Director's edition featuring a special tribute to Steve McQueen).

Happy to lend it out if you want to see it (although you MUST look after it!)

Wouldn't it be awesome to have a long point to point race like that in NZ. Must be something like that in Oz
