Faaaack! I'm glad the actions of one copper aren't indicative of the force as a whole otherwise we'd be dodging naked cops running through the streets every night!

Damn straight! Not that it really matters to Sparky, he hasn't got a bike lol.

Bits of a bike maybe but not a bike, nor a job (or a fucking hope)

All they will get is a collection of bike mags & a moist towel

ps: can't believe you didn't take that job offer down south Sparky

that's fantastic, so how are people racking up such big fines then? whats the limit before they come and repo your stuff? it should be set real low like $1500, if it is left outstanding for 2 mths you loose your stuff.

might deal with people like Skidmark.

Yeah but clowns like him own nothing, nothing with any real value anyway.

Regarding numberplates. I have taken an interest at boi-ricer's plate mounting activity of late. It is becomming more common to see a plate screwed to the right hand front of the front bumper. Even those without an intercooler are doing this. Handy for speed cameras I guess.
The rear of the ricer can have some interesting interpretations. One plate was mounted at about a 30 degree angle (not the bottom of the plate pulled out as we might expect, but more like "remove right hand bolt - lift right hand side of plate upwards-rebolt plate").

It would be nice if people wouldn't quote him... It ruins other peoples posts.

Even in their little Jappa utes they're mounting the number plate in a recess in the tail-door at a funny angle to one side - I guess it's a fad but a dorky looking one - and like all fads it will 'date' the car in a year or two.

It's legal though, and is actually the standard mounting for some cars. My MX5 is the same, but on the left (hmmm...moving it to the right might actually just work... )

Here's what will happen of the OP writes in.

The Police Infringement Bureau will "carefully consider" the letter but say the fine still has to be paid.

OP will have to request a hearing.

First hearing will be to enter a plea - OP doesn't have to attend.

Police have to get ALL evidence to defendant at least a week before hearing. At this point the Police may actually look at what's going on and drop the case.

If not you build your defence on material supplied - done reasonably and you will probably win.

Ask for costs, I doubt you will get any.

Result, the OP has to spend considerable time and effort to defend a $200 ticket.

The cheapest and easiest thing to do is pay the ticket - on the other hand you can have some immense fun and try to get the police into court - just realise this will take up a lot of time and may cost more than $200 - it depnds how you value your time.

Remember that time is your best friend - before the court hearing the police have to prepare the officers statement - his memory won't be that good in perhaps a year's time. Unless you have already written in, don't until a couple of days before the expiry of the Reminder Notice - and write down your version of events and keep it safe - it could be very useful.
