Sounds like the correct response would have been to remove said number plate and stick it up his arse then?

I'd be writing in to the Police infringment bureau with lots of photos personally.

No reflector ticket is very on the nose...

C'mon...What'd you do just prior to your certificate presentation to upset the nice policeman?

The guy I was riding with was well in front of me and he lost his license for 142kph...there were two cops sitting there waiting and the other guy wanted something to do too I guess...thing is, he was pissed that I wasn't speeding and I looked like I should have been. He didn't like bikes and it was well obvious with his first words spoken. I was completely riding within the law and he didn't like that apparently!

After zooming in your pic, I agree - It doesn't warrant a fine.
But it could possibly warrant a WOF fail.
The plate isn't in good condition with those bolt marks and the angle and placement does look poor.
I also couldn't see a plate lamp. It's not WOF standard unless it has a lamp. Many bike shops ignore that though.

I disagree with most of that...oh and it does have a lamp that lights up the whole underside of the bike at night...better than stock. I still maintain that there was no intention of hiding my plate and I believe that is obvious...the law as I understand it states that it needs to be visible from the rear of the vehicle and in an upright position...meets that.

Wasn't around Peak Rd/Old North, was it? If it was, and if the guy was a ginge, you've just encountered an infamous bike-hater.

Bad policing, in my opinion. Been in similar situations, and all it really makes you want to say is: 'fuck 'em and their speeding laws. Might as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb'. And off you hoon at full throttle.

Contact kiwifruit. His father was fined in a similar fashion and challenged it resulting in the case being thrown out of court.

An interesting side affect of such a benign brush with the law is the long term attitude change. Said copper has undoubtedly damaged yet another law abiding citizens opinion of the law and policing. Probably for a considerable time.

    Shame on them.
