I'm also ordering in new sprockets and a new o/x ring chain. which is better for the rg, i'll be replacing them after the ride back. Just getting the new continental tires put on at the mo and scrubbed in for friday. Just got to remember to ride my own pace. Ya my rg is a watercooled beast.

I'm guessing you are off up north. Remember as an alternative there are also Repcos in Whangarei, Kaitaia & Kerikeri and they stock bike 2-stroke oil. Also Super Chimp have a store in Whangarei and they do the Silkolene range. There are 3 to choose from. So you are never really that far away from oil if you need it.

Just take a couple of litres of your oil in the 1L containers you buy it in, take a 10&12mm and a nutfucker just incase. If your chain is as toasted as you led me to believe you should be doing it before, not after, the ride.

don't stress out too much about the oil thing, take a one litre with you, if ya get stuck any oil is better than no oil!. but have a bloody good adventure, look forward to your report , keep it safe.

    Get ya facts right.
Yeah I've owned RGs. I thought they were water-cooled, but having a bad morning thought I would check:
    http://www.suzukicycles.org/RG-series/RG150.shtml
which says "Engine type: Oil-cooled 147 cc single"

This is incorrect though, and they are of course water cooled, with an oversized rad for Malaysian conditions that means they run very cold (leading to many people covering 1/2 the rad to get the operating temp up). Sorry, bad morning yesterday and became confused. Thought I would get my facts straight, but then found an error on the internet. I'll inform the internet authorities and imagine it will make the news tonight.

Don't believe this...outboards run at a different temperature thats why they make different types of oil for different engines applications. But hey your pistons not mine....
Also, modern outboards run 100:1 - so marine 2 stroke will be formulated to suit.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
