So, clarify. You buzz up to 6k rpm all good, then the engine won't rev any more, and the tacho needle drops back to zero? Or the needle sits at 6K ? Or drops back to idle ?
This happens ALWAYS around 6K . In each gear ? What happens if you change down when it happens ? Does the engine rev more (by ear? or by tacho?)
What about when going up a steep hill? Same ? What about going down same steep hill ? Same ?
Same hot and cold ?
Start OK? Cold ? Hot ?
If you hold it at the 6k cutoff does the engine seem sweet, apart from not going past 6k ?
When the tacho kicks back in, does the engine then immediately accelerate past 6k? Or is there a pause?
Have you checked and rechecked the battery connections (tight? clean?) and all the connections around the power valve controller?
