Ride-out to Port Waikato (15-16 March)

    Hey all

    Last minute update.

The Sundowner trail ride is on this weekend, it is Quads only on Saturday so you won’t have to worry about two wheelers in your way or otherwise, then two wheelers and quads on Sunday,

Sign on is from 8.30 (unless you get there a bit earlier) you can ride as soon as we let you out of the gate.

    Also for the Quad people

Te Kauwhata scrambles round 3 in on Sunday the 16th so, Port Waikato on Saturday for a warm-up and then Racing at TK on Sunday,

    Sounds good

    See you there

The only reason I only ride in the Iron man Class is I have no friends left to enter the two man events,
    my own fault really.

does this mean sign on, read the breifing paper work and then go straight out on the trails, not wait untill 9.30-10.00 for a large riders breifing

A very good ride today, needed a little rain to help settle the dust.
Port waikato is such a nice area as well, will be their again next time.
Managed to get in 3 laps before lunch time, as we started riding or bikes as soon as we got their.
As breifing was at sign on, and you signed on as you drove off the road before parking.
    Nice touch.
    Well done "Power Adventures"
see you at the "Bull Run"

Right, that's got rid of my off-road virginity then....

Was a neat ride, a bit dusty and friggin steep in the A sections, there was a wee bit of swearing going down some of those bits!
The damage count went a bit like; 3 times off each side and once over the handlebars, the bikes fine tho!

I was surprised how short a loop was at 13km, I was expecting longer than that, obviously it varies dependant on terrain and location but what's the usual length?

Thanks to Greg Power and co, a great way to start my off road career!

20-30km is usual, apart from desert storm with there 50-60km loops that are great!
