OK sounds like you guys had a god time and all but how bout some feedback on what you actually learnt, after all you didn't go down for a days riding.
Was it worth the money? Did he teach you guys heaps? And do you feel you've improved your technique and skills from going.
Is it worth going if your not quite as good as Telli or GTae or should you ride a bit more first then go?
I've got a lot to learn so would be good to get some feedback as I'm quie keen on a Broxy or a King training day.
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!
'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '
go the broxy day mate. not DK.
such a good day.
i was really keen to take it easy, not injure myself and just take in what he had to say.
some things that we learnt felt really weird at the start, but by the end you can really feel yourself ride with alot less effort. smoother and in more control.
it is the "smoothness" that i really would like to try to master (over the next 20years)
watch him ride. it looks like there really is minimal effort to get his bike from one turn to the next. the bike bucks and moves underneath yet he stays calm and in control.
carrying speed into the corner was another big thing i learnt. instead of going in hard on the brakes and trying to grab a handfull of throttle mid corner. he suggests to carry more speed into the corner and just throttle gently through the corner, once you have straightned up you then get back hard on the gas.
uphill corners. (where the beginning of the corner starts low then the corne ends high. i have always struggled with, so it was good to see a few way's to attack them.
verdict. from novice to pro in one day? don't think so.
ride faster safer for longer? yip i think that is what i will try to take from the day.
can't wait to get back on a familiar track such as ardmore to see how it goes. (i struggled with the soft sandy corners)
as for the money? lets just say i will be booking myself in for another one in a years time.
i think you could benefit alot from the day no matter how you ride. no need to be into racing mx even to get alot out of it.
Hehe its the 20 years in between I've missed out on!! Shoulda kept an MX bike as well as karting? Oh well only rediscovered MX over the last 2 years ( although always been on a road bike) that's why I'd like to do the Broxy. Couldnt go on this one because I just had a kidney stone taken out and can't ride for another 2 weeks and I didn't want you young fellas showing me up!!
Hey thanks for the feedback on the training day helped me decide I really do need to go on one. Thanks Jimmy!

thats the funnyest thing i have heard, all day
The less you know the better your be.
As its so hard to break old habbets.
Broxey's training day was by far better then the D.k training that i did, just for the fact your almost one on one training with him all day, anymore then 6 people and it would be to much.
4 was a perfect amount.
it was meant to be a group of 5, but my mate dropped out at the last minute.
i think 5 would be the best because it then drops the cost per head quite a bit.

Hey sounds like you guys had a good time on the Broxy Day. It's the Wildman at Ardmore this Sunday, it will be good to see you new skills in action.
We have got another day coming up on the 20th of June in Auckland. This is at a private track. I'm also going to organise some sand riding coaching, this will be at Woodhill. If you are interested or want a price list send me an email at broxymx@gmail.com or catch up with me at Ardmore. Cheers
Ride hard, be safe. Simone.
