Stay tuned for final scores at the end of the week!

Well you know... gotta bike life interesting!
We dont live in Auckland! How many times do we have to say it!........LOL

Same cyl eh? Using a second hand coil is not exactly a fool proof cure - so either the coil was faulty,or something is overloading it and making it fail. Was there signs of water in the plug tube again? Like the rust marks we saw on the first coil? Someone needs to put a scope on it when the next coil is fitted - you don't want it happening again.AECS are in Hastings and are one of the top diagnostic centres around....they do training courses.I used to work for the father of one of the guys there. You need someone who understands ignition systems.....and not many motorcycle mechanics do,they seem to be more performance centred, not diagnostic biased.

Bummer Jack, seems this was a better than planned way to meet a few Kiwibikers!

Hope this one is not too expensive. Your bike did drop a bit of oil at ours the other day FWIW. Hope I should not have said that earlier

I have....bike etc on the way to Gisborne about 9.30. Don't know who with. Have asked to be kept posted but nothing yet.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Well, they are in Gisborne! Jack's bike was put on a trailer and he's been dropped off at the local bike shop.

Well I got the bike to gisborne, and same coil blown same way as last time... (note late one was 2nd hand) From what we can find, it appears all earth contacts are fine, but its quite advanced in there... so not sure 100%.

Have ordered a new coil from oz... but due to easter means the courier company cant get it here till tuesday!!!

I just went into the Napier Triumph dealer on the off-chance. But no. And they've already been asked by the Gissy shop. Triumph coils are model-specific, they say. And no, none in NZ.
Bit of a disaster all round really.
