    Going North

So I've booked passage on the Ferry for tomorrow afternoon and I'm borrowing a set of saddlebags tonight.

I'm planning to hit the road tomorrow morning, catching the Ferry from Picton to Wellington around 2:25 pm.

I was wondering if any of you guys might be able to recommend accommodation somewhere between Featherston and Woodville. Unless the weather is poor I'm expecting to head up through Hutt Valley sometime between 6 and 7:30 pm after having had something to eat in Central Wellington.

    Cheers

    ...

It's Easter - you'll be lucky to get what you want - Masterton is the biggest town, best to book something in advance if you can. Make sure it's somewhere that's ok with you arriving later in the evening.

    Just google "Masterton accommodation".

Cheers for the advice. I've had a look around the AA travel site and it doesn't look like one would be spoiled for choice in that area - one motel in Masterton and that's $99 per night.

Guess I'll have to browse lonely planet and other travel books when I get home tonight. Otherwise I guess I can sleep quite comfortably in my riding gear

Yeah, I'll call them shortly to get an idea about availability.
The AA website wasn't too good in that regards - only gave one motel in Masterton while there's like 10 in the book.

Time to start packing - guess I'll can leave the bivvy bag and the tramping mattress at home...

    Thanks

Seems there are a few vacancies available along the way - I might go all the way to Napier though. I guess it'll be fine.

Time to pack the bags, have a sleep - and then it's adventure ho!
