Question Wellington folks - help chacking out a bike?

    Hi Folks,
We are looking for a small adventure type bike for my wife. This is available on TradeMe and looks suitable (age, price, miles, condition etc) but we are unable to get there to view it. Is there anybody who would be able to give the guy a call and have a look at it and give it the once over on our behalf? Would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

Looks a good option Timg, you could keep it in Wellington until the CCA and use it for that........(part of my cunning plan to encourage more sth island riders up and into the dastardly hands of 4skins & vege)

Other than that, I am completely of no use to you, pretty much typical of KB really!

The thought had more than crossed my mind I had initially intended to do it on my Transalp but chickened out with some of the comments regarding "The ride needs f***-off knobbies" etc. In the mean time we are now doing other things (like moving house & kid's stuff) are now happening over Anzac weekend so there's no chance unfortunately

I'm obviously no help either but SDU use to have one for adventure/trail riding and liked it lots. They dont have heaps of power (it is actually a 225) but they have a nice wide ratio gear box and a low seat height. I tried to talk wifey into one as a starter bike but ended up on a chinese 200 and she has plans for a 650 when she gets her licence.

If you do get it keep and eye out cause I think in a month or so it will be time for a womans only or friendly adv ride around canty somewhere.

    Cheers R

May I suggest you PM Merv and ask him. He's our resident dirty rider of long standing. I would value his assessment.

Sounds good Ryan. Deb has ridden farm bikes when we were farmers but that was a while ago. Doesn't have a bike licence yet so the under 250 (yup aware they're 223cc) thing will be important for a while. Should be a good starter/learner bike for her, and of course small enough for a hobbit to ride
