My Ape is basically an 03rsv. The only mechanical problem I have had was a failed water pump seal that resulted in oil and coolant leaking from the "weep-hole" on the r/h side of the engine. This was an expensive repair and seems to be a problem on some bikes. Not exactly an epidemic but when I posted the leak on the AF1 forum they recognised it immediately. Check out the AF1 site, there is heaps of info on each year.http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/f...splay.php?f=12

Hey Clivoris, seen you on there. Spent last week reading through the threads.

Also a good site for FnKNAmerican. Dude theres guys on there from all over the States/Europe, and a bunch of Kiwis (Aussies as well. but nothings perfect).
I'm sure they'll be able to help you out with Dealers and local riders.

TSS in the Hutt. I was worried about getting it done after reading on the web that the factory recommended procedure was prone to repeated failure. I discussed this with the tech/mechanic and got them to check valve clearances etc while they were in there. They decided on the best way to do it, in the end sticking pretty close to the factory recommendations but taking special care I think. Worth paying to get it done right.
