I know this bike is fully featured, but anyone know the reason why the cop version has got a screen on the screen? Seems overkill a little?

Mine doesn't seem to have that problem...

Great ride that too. Just got back from The Mini's Return 5,656kms in 10 days - bike just ate it up. It's even done the Coro Loop now (on a slowly deflating rear tyre though - damn).

At 6'3 I'm not exactly a midget, but I couldn't find a height that worked on the adjustable screen (and just adjusting a screen was a novelty for me) Too low, no point, too high and the air landed right on my lid, making a hell of a noise.

hmmm could be tyres/suspension, riding style, or what else you have ridden. Me, its the largest thing, next was a modified blackbird (that was bad enough for changing direction compared to a modded hornet 900). Me... I scrape pegs on the hornet and ride litre bikes... so a concours is a little different

It looks like an air dam. I have one on my old Beemer. They punch the air over the rider to reduce buffeting etc. They have an effect well out of proportion to their size.

How do you know! I know many bike cops and they have to prove each year that they meet the Police standard, having been on the same course they do i can vouch for the standard of their training. They actually get more training here than Europe. I would love to see some riders on here handle a 300kg bike like a sports bike and ride as slow as they do without dropping it!
    Oh Mr Dudrey!!

that shit with the jap cops is crazy. i would love to be able to ride like that. respect to our local bike cops. they do a good job. have crap gear. and get shit on like the rest of the police. they should have the best money can buy. and the reality is bike cops are not normally out for bikers. they are riders too. but if they see someone being an arse on a bike they are going to stop them and have a talk. wouldnt you.

and a couple of them will be reading this so i should put my name down here

One of the most important tasks delegated to NZ Bike cops is, in fact, first response in the case of an accident. they can get through rush hour traffic much faster than an ambulance so they need the panniers coz they're full of life saving stuff.

Police are not just thief takers and not all police vehicles are purely for pursuit.

In countries with 100s of kms of motorway I can imagine pursuit cops on Gixxers or Fireblades but in reality all they can do is keep up. It's not like you could ram a speeding Veyron off the road on a CBR1000 is it?
In space, no one can smell your fart.

Oh, you have seen the training course they do have you????
    When were you at Ohakea?
Didn't see you there.... And I've caught up with most of the courses.

May have missed you, you should say Hi next time.
I'll buy you a pint in our bar.

I have sat in on the police motorcyclists basic course.
Well, if the general public went through the same, then we would have a well trained population of motorcyclists.
And according to DB we would all be riding around on Hyper-bikes, as we would be sooo good.
The Police Motorcycle training is largely the responsibility of one man.
He WAS in the British motorcycle display team.
