    Talking More old junk

after some serious negoitiation (3 or 4 txts), I have secured ownership of the rare jem pictured below, for free........, its the coolest ratbike I have ever seen, its reg and wof, it runs, and IT WAS FREE......., all I have to do is sort out the starter clutch and the suspect wiring (keeps draining battery) and find a way to Riwaka to pick it up........ maybe a good candidate for a sidecar or something wild.

Mrs LB is not amused "more old junk" mutter mutter mutter

Sweet score! Great project bike.. A handfull more than a few man hours, and you could get it looking nice! Wish I had the room/workshop for free bikes. My social life would go out the window

How is it mechanically? Seems like a bit of oil leakage on the ol' engine there...

    its a z750 spectre,

I think its like a step up from an LTD, the motor sounds sweet, it idles fine, and revs out fairly smoothly, but it is fairly slow so theres something not right there it has leaky headers, it pisses oil out, and the starter clutch is rooted so I'll have to fix that, but the air suspension still works and it rides ok, and the shaft drive (same as a gt750) seems strong enough so I might just strip it down and see if I can make it faster, it should be good for 120mph if I can get it to lose some weight

    Great !! a PW50 !!!
Good stuff, you should be able to track down an original front end without too much fuss.
    Does it run?

Holy hell, I used to ride one of those when I was 7. And even then it was considered old.

I have a 1987 GT750 in the garage. Great bike. It took ScorpyGirl and I all round the South Island prior to me getting the 'Wing.

Starter clucthes are a well known problem on the GPZ/GT570 series Never had any problems with the shaft drive, but the rear air supsension is suffering a lack of damping at the moment.
Keep the shiny side upright, Rhino.
