Is it right to euthanasis old folk?

Heck I did have a scare on Saturday, we were parked up the top of the Takas & there was just me & a mate, this guy shows up on an old CBR1000 & in a display of extreme ineptitude proceeded to stumble while turning & slowly drop his bike struggling with the weight. The throttle is wound on, engine screaming, bike being lowered to the ground.

All while aimed at my bike about 2 meters away! I could see it all happening. 300 kilo bike trying to mount the (newly painted) YZF when he drops the clutch with max revs at close range, right in front of me with nothing I could do about it.

I felt my blood pressure skyrocket & angry words were spouting 'Don't F-N hit my bike!'

As it was happening I was picturing what I’d have to do to him. Wouldn’t have wanted to but the circumstances would have required it.
I mean if I crash my bike then I'll be sad & angry with myself. But to lose it to a parking incident would just be untenable. Felt bad afterwards for entertaning the idea though.

Fortunately I think he had kicked it into neutral.

So with disaster avoided we helped pick up his bike. He was a short older chap (say 50) who used to own a CB650 & clearly the 1000 was waay too big for him. Admitted to to dropping it at least once or twice before.

Was still a bit fuming & to add insult he turns out to be ‘Fcuking annoying guy’
We had been mid conversation & this guy just starts talking at us dominating the conversation with a load of bile.

We had to leave, fortunately some chap on a Harley arrived & he started rambling to him before he even got off his bike.

So if you see some old chap on a black ‘90s slightly second hand CBR1000. Run!

    And don’t park too close.

There are probably some amongst us who could be vaguely aroused by such a proposition, if the content of the Hornby thread is anything to go by...

That was more or less a rule of thumb in 'the old days': if you can't pick it, it's too big for you. I'd forgotten that one.

I knew a few people (particularly women) who just ignored it.
Twas OK, as long as there was someone around to help if their bike fell over.
Easy if you were a female and could bat your eyelashes / show some skin, but a bit harder if you were some short, stringy ugly guy.....
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

My concern was how the bike got dropped in the first place. Personally I didn’t give a shtt if he could pick his own bike up, or even if it spontaneously combusted & he had to walk home. My beef is the lack of riding skill whilst aiming at my bike.

Now don’t get me wrong I understand that it is easy enough to have a small tip over esp if your feet are the wrong side of a cambered area, such is the carpark. But to see this guy he was obviously out of control, dazed & confused & too close to me.

And riding a 1000cc bike. Dick!
