It's not that I have any hate for 250cc and I know I should buy a bike that I am not afraid to beat up but I hate having restrictions on things I can do.

Just a word about Colapop... It's hard to find anyone who's actually bigger than him. He has a rep on KB for being the "King of Hugs". Apparently, and I can't speak from personal experience, so going by reputation, a hug from Colapop means that you'll never view a hug from anyone else as a real hug anymore...

I have decided that when I move there on April 15th (looking at Auckland) that I will want to buy a motorbike instead of a car.

I figured a NZ winter will be better than an Arizona summer (it gets to be 123f... I think that is 56 celsius).. but the other side of the road will make it interesting..

There is a New Zealand branch of Craigslist, but it is not as well populated or as popular as the rest of the world at the moment.

If you are able to get an American Motorcycle licence, it would probably be a good thing to do before you leave? Then you may not have do do your licence in New Zealand. A number of licences from many countries are recognised here.

I am sure that thru riding you will meet tonnes of people in NZ.

Not anymore. Every state now has the graduated licence system. So getting it here or there makes no difference.
