Have you ever been randomly pulled over for this reason?

Bike cc check + your license class?

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

    I've not, but plenty have.

$400 + 25 demerits at present. BUT - the gubbermint announced yesterday (or the day before) that in the next few weeks they will be bringing in tougher penalties for breach of licence conditions . Including maybe impoundment.

    Edited - from here

Young drivers could face zero tolerance on alcohol, more practical training and tougher penalties for licence breaches as part of a road safety package to go before Cabinet.

"In the next few weeks we intend to release the next suite of measures,"

A spokeswoman for Ms King said a wide package of road safety initiatives aimed at young drivers could go to Cabinet before Christmas or early in the new year.

Ms King said a major part of the changes being considered included extending the graduated licence period. A requirement for more practical driving instruction could also be introduced.
    ...

Tougher penalties for breaches - such as a learner driving alone, or a restricted driver caught with other youngsters in the car after 10pm - are likely to be part of the road safety package.

Transport Safety Minister Harry Duynhoven was unavailable for comment yesterday. However, he said in April that young drivers who breached their licence conditions could be forced to return to driver training or even lose their cars.

lol that relates to my next question:

What will be the punishment for a Learner on 400?

    and Restricted on 400?

I think it would be much more likely to be pinged for licence breaches if you get pulled over for something else such as speeding or even if you are involved in a crash.

In my 8 years of motorcycling I have never been randomly pulled over.

    Haha, if only

I'm on my full so I'm allowed to have a 400, just it's a piece of shit and whenever I've fixed it enough for it's warrant something else breaks off. Can't get your rego unless it's warranted too, so that's gone out

    From the LTSa website

Penalties for not keeping to your licence conditions
It's important that new riders develop driving skills in a safe environment - safe for themselves and others. Consequently, you'll face fines and demerit points if you break the conditions of your restricted and learner licences. (These measures are designed to encourage new riders to abide by the rules at all times.)
If you break the conditions of your learner or restricted licence, you'll face:
    • a $400 infringement fine
    • a penalty of 25 demerit points.
But , as noted below, they will be a lot tougher next year. It's probably going to be harder to move from one stage to another , also.

$400 & 25 demerits currently. Expect to see that change in the near future to $150 & 35 demerits.

Why exactly are you worried about this?

Thinking a larger bike are we?
"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."

Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.
