After having two helmets with catches, I initially found the D-rings a bloody nuisance, but now that I'm used to it, I find it OK.
I was under the impression that for racing only D-rings were acceptable, as they are more secure. :spudwhat:
When I first got my last AGV, the buckle design was different to the previous one, and for the first few months I had problems with it not fastening properly, and popping undone.
Part of the D-rings' usability hinges on the method used to fasten the loose strap. Mine has velcro with very small hooks (so it doesn't stick to
everything) and it's very easy to secure: I just stuff the end in under the padding on the lefthand side of the helmet, where the other side of the velcro is on the other strap. My wife's Shoei Raid has a stupid metal clip that attaches to the D-ring, and it's almost impossible to use.
Can anyone who has a similar helmet or system tell me if they get easier to use as they wear in? If they don', I'm going to take the clip off and put velcro on it.
