26 March 2008 Stay the Hell away from Hawyards

    Okay...

they've decided to reseal the road between the Moonshine Rd turnoff and the top of the passing lane at the very top of Haywards.

    And its hideous.

I went over at 4.50 pm and there's melted tar and loose gravel piling up everywhere. I swear I got a few thousand stones in the chain and the bike weighs 10 kgs heavier because of all the stones stuck in the fairing and radiator now.

Stay the fuck away for a few days guys.

And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

I went through this morning just as they were setting up to make a mess and then back on my way home about an hour later, traffic at snail's pace and tar and loose metal going on, looking like it was going to turn into a big yucky mess. They were also doing something on the Pahatanui inlet road too by Whitby..... totally ruined my last bit of fun before hitting the motorway.

Paremata Rd isn't a problem - they're putting in armco on the outside edges as the 'tards can't stop going over the edge.

    But Haywards is genuinely dangerous.

Arrr is that what they're doing down there, that's cool! Oh well, we can't moan too hard, if the road surface was shit we'd bitch that it's shit and nobody's fixing it eh.

Armco - Still nasty if you hit it though.

The gravel isn't my problem. It's the fuckwit cagers who have no idea at all. And the stones that get everywhere. Dammit - I just don't want to wreck my nice gold chain.

Beauty bro !! Good to know !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Yep and its spoiling the view of the harbour for the sake of those few 'tards. Now you are talking about retards and not motards eh?

Tho' I will add I can't say I've ever seen a bike over the edge but sure some cars have landed in funny places at funny angles around there so would be helped by the barrier but it seems to have very flimsy supports - not sure they'd hold a truck back.
    Cheers

If you have a closer look Merv you'll see they're temporary supports - they started to put in the big wooden supports today.

and yes it was the re-tards I was talking about.
