    Lost my cherry

    Well, it finally happened...

Came off the bike last saturday and took a slide / tumble down the road.

Happened on the Mangawai road. Lost the front wheel and lowsided....

Broken collarbone and nurofen is my new best friend!

Wear the gear people! Saved my life...

I now need a new front end for my new vfr streetfighter project. Anyone have any ideas where I should start?
Front wheel, calipers, forks and any panels would be a great help.

    TIA

    Ouch

sorry to hear that. Hope that you and the bike get sorted and mended asap.
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have you found? The same old fears.
    Wish you were here. QWQ

I like where this is going....

Condolences though, the first crash sucks the most.

Crikey, glad to hear that you are on the mend. Can you reflect back and think about what caused the bin? It always helps to go back over the incident to analyse what happened so you can learn and not repeat the same mistake again!

    How it happened

Cresting a small rise, touched the front brakes, and that was game over...

I think the suspension was unloaded and the small touch (which would not normally lock the wheel up) was enough to lock up the front wheel and over I went.

My gear really did it's job and prevented a possible knee and ankle injury to add to the others....

Soooooo quick, didn't realise what happened until I stopped sliding...

On the mend now....ribs are better and I can laugh again!
