    Suzuki GSXR 400r 92

I have just bought this wonderful beast fron KBer Artiface[cheers Mate]. 56000kms-sound order. The idea is a track bike/perhaps keep it road legal for a while-eventually look at clubmans/f3 racing,if it turns out to be a good bike. My plans are-new camchain/tensioner,check valve clearances, clean and balance carbs-plugs,air filter etc. Then-have suspension rebuilt-new front springs/seals/fluid-rebuild rear shock. Then new chain/sprockets/tires/check brakes!! Am I missing anything vital? What have been your experiences with these bikes? Are they ok-reliable and handle ok? What tyres? I doubt it will ever be a full resto-but should be fun. Looking for your feedback........

second hand motors are non existent, DONT ride it until you get the cam chain sorted and make sure they know what they are doing, mine lasted 2 weeks and Im still blaming suzuki for making crap bikes(I know it was my fault but Im still blameing them),I hope you have many laps of sexy time with your new toy.Im not saying, im just saying I payed $4500 rode it 10 times and sold it for 1000$ get the cam chain sorted.

I had a '88 GK73a GSXR400 for my second bike and loved it, 3 grand for 37k when I got it, never had any issues with it rode it daily very reliable, it was getting old though blew a bit o' smoke despite k's. My impression of it was that they are quite sensitive mechanically, go with advice above if you want it to last and look after it especially if your thrashing it constantly. Otherwise have fun, mine was great and would make a great trackbike, handled good but apparently not quite as good as a ZXR400 . Get crash knobs asap my fairings were very fragile/old/rare, and enjoy

I raced one, a 1992 sp, was a good track race bike and did well, the biggest issue I had was the tall first gear, being a sp it took off like a 125 two stroke, once up and away it went well.
Very reliable and had a blast on it, get the valve clearances checked, thats important.
Also get the suspension soughted, once done its a great handling bike.
Ive run out of fucks to give

Chris, I think you ought to spill how much you paid for your new toy
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)
