Even in motard form they are very hard to ride. I raced a superbike for 4 years and had one crash. I had 3 in one day on more than one occasion on the KX500 motard. The hardest thing is the initial power pulse when cracking the throttle. It is brutal enough to back the back end loose, does not matter how slowly you open the throttle. Not quite so bad on manfield, but tight go cart tracks and bucket circuits...watch out!

Hopefully get/make a mid 90's KX graphics kit like my old 80 had. And a Cyan seat with Kawasaki in white with a purple/pink background. And a purple frame and wheels. It'll be rad!

On manfield, my one pulled 16/39 gearing, I think that puts it around 190+. I passed a lot of F3 bikes down the back straight.

I was reading an article a while back and some crazy guy got 3 old RM engines, and milled a case, fitted a Kawa gearbox and set the tripple 750 2 stroke up!! That would be freaking nuts.

That is an awesome looking bike. Wow that frame! Here is 2 pics of mine in motarded form. They are still to this day real fast. As far as I'm aware, I still hold the motard lap record around the manfield track, a flat 1:18 (thats with the slower motor!) I've seen one with a Husaberg usd fork front end too

Having raced both KX500's and modern 450 4 strokes...I can tell you that a 500cc 2 stroke is a rattly pile of poo in comparison. Fun yes...but like a Dodo...they're dead.

tried my neighbour's kx500 in a cr125 frame

farking rattly, farking fast, but i'm quicker on my 400 four stroke... can actually use and control the power
