That sign is a reflection of the young people they employ. They probably mean well.

I don't like the implication by Mobil (& others) that assumes everyone is a potential petrol thief. I understand that the actual number or drive-offs are low but the margins on fuel are so low that it makes a difference.

Mostly I use EFTPOS pumps or supermarket petrol stations.

I can imagine the oil industry marketing lizards "This is a great way to get those suckers to buy our out of date chocolate and overpriced coke so we'll hang to prepay a bit longer."

    Catch 22

The way I see it is if the desk monkeys turn the pumps to pre-pay when they get busy, they are actually doubling their workload and will stay busier as everyone has to wait in line...
If you want to fill up, you have to go in twice....once to ask and then once to pay.
(someone please check grammer etc as I would hate to be classed as a youf)

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Shell Colombo that's the one at the bottom of the hill opposite Malcome Av now have notices on all there pumps for pre pay. Called in this morning drove off again. That's $90 odd dollars that they have missed out on. I just refuse to support any buisness that does not give me unconditional trust.
