Yesterday afternoon I had a call from one of my fellow workers, that I had a flat tyre.
Went down to check and yep it was as flat as the provebial pancake.
Pissed off as the tyre is only 1 month old and only has about 4000 km on it.
Upon checking there is a piece of steel imbedded in one of the grooves in the tread.
Must have picked it up on the motorwar on the way into work.
Anyway, I rang the missus and she came and picked me up from work. This morning I had a lift in to work by cage, got the cash in my pocket for a new tyre (only 1 month old, grrrr).
Over night I left the bike inside the building, as an anti theft measure.
I was going to ride the bike down to a shop at my lunch break and have the tyre sorted.
Now I get an e-mail from our stores dept. They were moving something and have snapped my clutch lever off.
Now I need to go to the shop, buy a new clutch lever, go back to the bike and fit it, then find a shop that will put a new tyre on the bike, ride it there (very gingerly).
Sometimes it doesnt seem worth it. You just seem to be getting to a place of comfort, things just seem to be getting into line and along comes the bluebird of happiness and drops a large one right on top of you.
My bike is already a mess, I have been struggling to afford to fix all that needs to be done. Now back to stage 1 again.
2 steps forward and 5 steps back.
The money I have saved to get the lights fixed, new brake pads and a few other little bits and pieces will now go on just getting it running again.
Too proud to ask for financial help from the family. I make or break on my own bat. Unfortunately I have had a shit load of the latter.
Rant and rave over.
